Mauri o te Kauri is an indie documentary film that tells the story of New Zealand's forest giants from tiny seed to one of the largest living things on earth... but their future hangs in the balance as Kauri dieback disease threatens these magnificent forests.
Zoospore attacks root system
This clip from the documentary shows via animation (designed and executed by BurningFish Productions), how a zoospore hatches from its sporangium and it then attaches itself to a Kauri root and grows infectious hypha that engulf the root system.
